i'd suggest a Roe if you want a slalom board with the right flex. there's a lot more shapes to choose from, and since you're local, Gareth will likely meet you somewhere for a drop off or hand it off to me to give to you.
also, the nanotech would be way over the top (and $$$) if you're just starting out.
you can borrow my "Magnum" in fact, if you just want to try out a wider slalom deck. i use it for all courses except for really tight slalom.
you might start taking a look at the sk8kings boards as well, very affordable and have a great concave-kicktail shape, and Richy dials each board in as a complete -- race ready right out of the box.

well i was thinking this because i am gettin it from some one on northwestlongboarding for some trade and $30 so i just wondering and so i was thinking this just cause i could get it for not alot of money and just trades makes it way easier seeing as i dont have alot of it

ahhh well that could be different then! really just depends on the flex at that point. but if you can score a nano for cheap then just do it because even if it doesn't suit you, your resale should be pretty easy.
