Hey everyone, so I'm on Oahu. As such, I like skating barefoot, especially pumping barefoot. Unfortunately that leads to some hamburger on my toes for those long sessions. I heard of rubber grip tape but have never been able to find it. I know I need something a little more than just the board, but haven't been able to find a good alternative. Help me out!

hey welcome tookie-- I haven't done a lot of barefooting, and did shred my feet a bit on the regular grip. But I've seen a couple local guys set up like this:
-- Rubber grip pads for surfboards, have their own adhesive, and it adds a degree of concave.
-- Yoga mat held down with a bit of gorilla glue, straight out flat but sticky.
I just ran into a guy "Barefoot Ted" who runs marathons and ultramarathons barefoot, the guy is a total natural on a board, and now that he's getting into it again I'm sure he'll be trying out different surfaces. I'll try to get him on here some time! |
