|
|
Hi guys im new to ldp and i have a set up in mind.
i know i am going with bennet 5.0s in the front and tracker rts in the back but im not sure how good this deck is for ldp. i kinda like the look and everything but i just needed to make sure this wasnt a bad board for pumping.
heres the gravity website version:
http://www.gravityboard.com/pages/gstore/boards/m27_3.html
heres a review from silverfish (they didnt say anything about ldp)
http://www.silverfishlongboarding...ard_Reviews/Gravity/Mini_Classic/
i really like this deck but if it doesnt work anyone have any suggestions? i am looking for something with at least 8in in width and 27in in length and a deck under 60 dollars.

i ai am gonna set it up with bennet 5.0s in the front (wedged 15 degrees) and tracker rts in the back (dewedged 10 degrees). i think the wedges are half an inch on the fat side per 5 degrees.
i was wondering if i will get wheel bite with 70mm zigzags. if so, should i get risers or just get the 66mm zigs.
thanks! |

hey pema, the first thing i look for on that site was wheelbase: WB:15.25"
most LDP setups are nearly twice the wheelbase, in the 26"--30" range. that little deck will be very pumpable, a great little cruiser and not a bad way at all to learn how to pump! but quite a different experience in terms of going distances.
there are some low cost alternatives in fact I'm selling a gravity Spoon-nose that would work, and you could also look into eastbilt for a really cheap board, though you'd probably have to redrill because they do a lot of new-school drilling, and you have to buy the grip and grip it yourself. Here's their site http://eastbilt.com/long_old_school.htm
you'll have to play with the risers, sounds like your wedging is adequate for 70mm wheels but there are so many other factors that can create wheelbite including how soft you run your bushings, and whether the concave of the deck gives the wheels more clearance. |

ah correction to what i said before. sorry about using the wrong term i didnt mean ldp. haha. i mean more..just pumping around campus so i dont have to push as much while going to a class maybe like three-fourths of a mile away. i also needed something under 30 for the convenience factor.
so when you say good for pumping but not so good for ldp, what do u mean?
thanks! |

Think of it this way. What that would be setup for would be more of a sprint. LDP's are like a marathon. I hope this helps.
